On 3 December 2015 British jets launched their first air strikes against the Daesh targets in Syria.
Britain has already been involved in the air campaign against Daesh in Iraq, as well as Special Forces operations in both Iraq and Syria. The prominent example of the latter was British SF participation on the side of Syrian Kurds in the successful Battle of Kobani, where the Kurds, with the U.S. and British support, repelled and defeated Daesh forces. Britain is also supporting Iraqi Kurds in their fight against Daesh.
